About the Course

This 4-week watercolor course is designed for complete beginners who want to learn the art of painting with watercolors from the ground up. All supplies will be included.

Age: 8+ Kids, Teens and Adults

What Students Will Learn

Through guided, hands-on sessions, students will learn how to control water and pigment to create soft gradients, sharp details, and vibrant washes. Each week focuses on a different subject — from sweeping landscapes to delicate flowers and realistic fruits — giving students a well-rounded foundation in watercolor painting.

Skills You’ll Develop

The course covers key watercolor fundamentals including color theory and mixing, brushwork precision, creating depth with layering, and composition planning. By the end of the 4 weeks, students will have completed 4 finished paintings and developed the confidence to continue painting independently.

Course Outline

Week 1: Landscapes – Learning the Basics Introduction to watercolor materials and techniques. Students will learn wet-on-wet washes, creating skies, and building depth in a simple landscape composition. Focus on understanding how water controls the paint.

Week 2: Precision & Brushwork Building control and confidence with the brush. Students will practice fine lines, clean edges, and controlled washes through guided exercises. Focus on brush pressure, stroke variety, and creating sharp vs. soft details.

Week 3: Flowers – Softness & Color Students will paint floral compositions using layering techniques, learning how to build petals with transparent washes and create natural-looking color transitions. Focus on wet-on-dry technique and color mixing.

Week 4: Fruits & Still Life – Bringing It All Together The final week combines all learned techniques into a still life composition. Students will paint realistic fruits using light, shadow, and texture to create dimension. Focus on observation, blending, and finishing a polished piece.
